Breath Prayers

A breath prayer is a simple phrase with two parts. The first part of the phrase is for mediation during an inhale, and the second part is for meditation during the exhale. It is a silent prayer that repeats over and over again as one breathes. Breath prayer is a simple prayer practice that can be done in any time and place, alone or in a crowd, even when you’re on hold or waiting in line!

Inhale                                                                                         Exhale

Wait for the Lord…                                                  Be strong and take heart     (Psalm 27:14)

Be still before the Lord…                                       And wait patiently for him    (Psalm 37:7)

I waited patiently for the Lord…               He leaned toward me and heard me  (Psalm 40:1)

For God alone…                                                         My soul in silence waits      (Psalm 62:5)

I wait for the Lord…                                                   My whole being waits     (Psalm 130:5)

The Lord is a God of justice…                     Blessed are those who wait for him (Isaiah 30:18)

I wait for God my savior…                                           My God will hear me         (Micah 7:7)

Strengthen your hearts…                               Because the Lord’s coming is near     (James 5:8)
